Rosalia

Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born and was raised in Barcelona. Her eclectic music has earned her the status of "atypical pop star". When she was of 13, she fell in fascination with Spanish folk music and enrolled in musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She also performed at weddings as well as music bars. The project reinvented flamenco and mingled it with pop and hip-hop. The songs "Malamente", and "Pienso En Tu Mira" were a hit among the Spanish public and received universal critical acclaim. El Mal Querer, who received the Latin Grammy Award as Album of the Year, and was listed in Rolling stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time was the catalyst for Rosalia's rise to the world of music. Rosalia, who explored urbano music in her 2019 releases "Con Altura" and "Yo Ti Tu x Mi", was a global hit. She gave reggaeton an innovative spin on her third album Motomami (2022) that departed from the modern flamenco sound of the album that preceded it. The album received the attention of the world with its two singles "La Fama" and "Saoko" and was the top-rated album of the year on Metacritic. Rosalia has scored ten top-ten singles throughout her career in her home country. This is the most for an artist from that region. Rosalia has won eleven Latin Grammy Awards, two Grammy Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and four MTV Europe Music Awards, three UK Music Video Awards, and two Premio Ruido Awards. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award, in 2019 for "changing the music of today's popular songs with her unique flamenco-infused pop". [18] She is also the first singing Spanish group to be nominated for Best New Artist at Grammys. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born into a family with no artistic heritage and is the eldest child of Pilar Tobella who runs a small business in the family that specialises in metalworking. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They separated in the year 2019. Her elder sister, Pilar Vila ("born 1989") is her stylist and creative mind. Rosalia was interested in the performing arts in her early years especially after discovering the discography by Camaron de la Isla. She began her musical training at Taller de Musics. She completed a six-year program in the academy. She began attending class at the Raval school, later transfering to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. She also independently was a singer on her own at weddings, as well as in musical bars, for which she was paid "a little over 80 euros or for dinner". Rosalia was also a frequent visitor to underground Spanish musicians in this period such as La Zowi (Yung Beef), Kaydy Cain and Hinds. Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia Rosalia
